Your badges: Reliable and Students keep coming back (teachers)

Two badges you earn by teaching on KoloLingo. They show on your public profile and on your card in search, so students can see at a glance that you turn up and that your students come back.

Badges are measured from your real lessons. Nobody can buy one, ask for one or add one by hand, and they never change your rate or your place in search.

Reliable

You earn it when, in the last 90 days:

• you held at least 10 lessons, and
• you missed no more than 5% of your lessons.

A lesson you held is one you taught, or one where you waited and the student did not come. A missed lesson is one you cancelled late (inside the late-cancellation window) or did not turn up to. With 10 to 19 lessons that means none missed; from 20 lessons, one in twenty.

These do not count against you: a cancellation with notice, a lesson request you never accepted, a lesson the student cancelled, a lesson where nobody joined, and a no-show that was corrected after you appealed it.

Students keep coming back

You earn it when:

• at least 5 students had their first lesson with you between 21 and 365 days ago, and
• 60% or more of them came back: they had another lesson with you, or they have one booked.

Students who met you in the last three weeks are not counted yet, so a new student never holds you back.

Where you see your numbers

On your dashboard, open the Recognition card (on a phone, press Show the rest of your dashboard). For each badge it shows the bar and your own numbers, and since when you have held it.

Where students see your badges

• On your public profile, under Earned on KoloLingo, each with one line saying what it means.
• On your card in search.

How often they update

We check every teacher every few hours. A badge appears when you meet the bar and disappears when you no longer do. Your dashboard also checks your own numbers when you open it (at most every 10 minutes).

In the app

The KoloLingo app shows the same Recognition card on your dashboard, and your badges on your profile.
