No. In an exchange you trade time with another learner and spend half the call speaking your own language. Here you are talking to a paid teacher for the whole call, and it is their job to correct you rather than to be polite about it.
That is the normal reason people avoid unscheduled lessons, so tell the teacher exactly that when they pick up. They do this all day and will hand you a topic in seconds. There are also prompts on this page you can steal outright.
Plenty of learners do, though the two do different work. Booked lessons give you a plan and someone tracking your progress across weeks. Instant lessons give you volume — the unglamorous hours of actually speaking that are usually what is missing.
