What your school gets

How it works

  1. Apply

Tell us about your school: its languages, its team and the share you plan to ask. It takes about five minutes.

  2. KoloLingo reviews

Our team reads every application. You teach on KoloLingo too, so your teacher profile is reviewed as well — if you don't have one yet, you create it right after applying.

  3. Sign your agreement, invite your teachers

Once approved, your school is live and KoloLingo prepares its agreement, which you read and sign in the app. Share your link: teachers already on KoloLingo ask to join, new ones apply through it, and you approve each one.

Questions schools ask

Do I have to teach on KoloLingo myself?

Yes. A school's owner has a teacher profile on KoloLingo, reviewed like every teacher's. You can apply for the school first and create your profile right after.

What does it cost to run a school?

Nothing to open or run it. KoloLingo earns its commission on each lesson — the normal commission is 15% after payment processing fees — unless your school's signed agreement sets other terms, such as a lower commission on students your school brings.

Who sets the school share, and can it change?

You do: 0–50% of each sale, after payment processing fees. Teachers see it before they join. You can lower a teacher's share at any time; a higher share only applies if the teacher accepts it.

How do my school and my teachers get paid?

KoloLingo collects every payment. Each teacher's earnings and your school's share are tracked lesson by lesson and paid out through each person's own payout method. A lesson sold while a teacher was in your school keeps paying the school as it is taught.

Do my teachers need to apply too?

Every teacher on KoloLingo is reviewed by our team. Teachers who already teach here join with your code; new teachers apply through your link, and their request reaches you once we approve them.

Can students my school brings pay a lower commission?

They can, if your agreement says so. Your school's terms — including any lower commission on students who sign up through your link or any of your teachers' links — are set in a written agreement you sign in the app. Students who find a teacher on the KoloLingo marketplace pay the normal commission.

Can I bring my own teaching materials?

Yes. Your school library holds documents, slides, audio and images for the whole team. Upload files or whole folders, or import a ZIP downloaded from Google Drive — its folders are kept. The materials stay yours.

Can a teacher leave, or can I close the school?

A teacher can leave at any time, and you can remove a teacher or close the school. New sales then carry no school share; lessons already sold keep the terms they were sold under.
