How to use Professional development and earn skills badges
Professional development is where you grow as a KoloLingo teacher: take short training courses, follow pathways towards a verified skills badge, keep a record of what you've finished, and share your own know-how with other teachers.
Where you find it
In the teacher menu, open More and choose Professional development.

Training courses
Training courses are short courses made for teachers, and they're free for every KoloLingo teacher. Open one, work through its lessons, and when you finish you get a certificate with a code anyone can check.
You see each course's status: not started, in progress, or done.
Pathways and verified skills badges
A pathway is a set of training courses around one skill, for example teaching young learners, adult beginners, Business English or exam preparation. The page shows how far you are, such as 2 of 3 done.
When you've finished every course in a pathway, you automatically earn its verified skills badge. It's verified because it rests on the certificates you earned, and it has its own code anyone can check.

Your badges on your profile
Your badges appear on your public profile and your card in the teacher list. Students can filter teachers by them with Trained in. That's how training you've done helps students who need exactly that, such as parents looking for someone experienced with children.
Your record
Under In progress and Finished you see every training course you've started or completed, with the date and your certificate code.
Share what you know
Have something other teachers should learn, such as a classroom routine that works, or how you prepare students for an exam? Press Build a training course:
- The course builder opens with the course set for teachers. Training courses are always free.
- Build it like any course: units, lessons, videos, files, quizzes.
- When you publish, our team reviews it. You get a notification when it's approved, or, if something needs changing, a note telling you what.
- Once approved, every KoloLingo teacher can take it, and it can become part of a pathway.
