Set the minimum notice students must give you
You can now set how much notice students must give you before a lesson. Until today, a student could book any open time starting 15 minutes from now. If you need time to prepare, set a minimum: for example 2 hours, 1 day or 3 days. Students then only see and book times that start after it.
How to set it
- Open Teach → Availability.
- Find Minimum notice before a lesson and press Change.
- Choose how much notice you need: from 15 minutes (the default) to 7 days.
- Press Save.
It takes effect straight away: on your profile page, in the apps, for weekly lessons and when a student moves a lesson. Students see "book at least … ahead" under your times, and your own calendar only shades the time students can still book.
It works in the KoloLingo desktop app for Mac and Windows right away. The phone and tablet app gets the same setting under Calendar in its next update. Until then, a notice you set on the web already applies to students booking from the app.
Good to know
- 15 minutes is the default. If you don't change anything, nothing changes.
- Calls and instant lessons aren't affected. Students can still call you when you are free now.
- Lessons already booked stay. The notice only changes which new times students can pick.
- It works together with "How far ahead students can book". The notice can't be as long as that window, or students would have nothing left to book.
- You can still move a lesson sooner yourself. The notice is for students' bookings, not for your own changes.
